The death has occurred of Sergeant Brandon Malcolm of the Ontario Provincial Police, who was killed in the line of duty in Cobourg, Ontario.
The tragic incident took place on April 27, 2026, shortly after 5:30 p.m., when officers responded to reports of a single-vehicle motorcycle crash on Highway 401 near Burnham Street North.
Emergency responders attended the scene, but despite their efforts, Sgt. Malcolm was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passing marks a significant loss to the Ontario Provincial Police and the wider community, as he served with dedication in the Northumberland Detachment, Central Region.
